COMMUNITY SECURITY ADVISORY

June 22, 2025
Subject: Current Security Environment Following the American Strike on Iranian Nuclear Facilities

Dear Members of the Jewish Community:

On June 21, 2025, the United States conducted a targeted strike on Iranian nuclear infrastructure. This military action follows a period of escalating tensions between the U.S., Israel, and the Islamic Republic of Iran.

THREAT ASSESSMENT

At this time, there is no known specific, credible threat against the Jewish community. CSI is actively monitoring the situation and remains in close communication with local, state, and federal law enforcement and Jewish communal security partners.

We are, however, in unprecedented times. Given the heightened tensions and potential for retaliatory action against Jewish / Israeli targets, CSI assesses an elevated threat environment for Jewish communities in the U.S.

The situation remains fluid. We do not advise closures or event cancellations at this time. However, we strongly recommend increased vigilance, institutional coordination, and proactive communication with law enforcement partners and CSI.

RECOMMENDED ACTIONS FOR INSTITUTIONS

  1. Heighten Situational Awareness
    • Immediately review perimeter security and access control.
    • Monitor for hostile surveillance or suspicious behavior.
    • Increase internal communication between clergy, staff, and security personnel.
  2. Communicate with Law Enforcement and CSI
    • Report all suspicious activity to local police and CSI Regional Security Directors.
    • Ensure updated emergency contacts are on file.
  3. Review Emergency Procedures
    • Conduct a tabletop or staff briefing on lockdown, evacuation, and shelter-in-place protocols.
    • Rehearse communication plans with key personnel.
  4. Control Event Access
    • Limit access to controlled entrances/exits.
    • Register guests in advance and review lists for suspicious names, avoid advertising exact addresses online, and require ID upon arrival.
    • Consider presence of trained security personnel.
  5. Encourage Community Vigilance
    • Share official updates with congregants and staff only from trusted sources.
    • Discourage sharing of unverified rumors on social media.

As always, CSI is here to support and protect the community.

If you see something, say something — and tell CSI.

Contact your CSI Regional Security Director with any concerns.
