The Rabbinical Alliance of America — Igud HaRabbonim, representing over 950 rabbis across North America — joins Klal Yisroel in mourning the untimely passing of Rabbi Moshe Hauer, zt”l, Executive Vice President of the Orthodox Union.
Rabbi Hauer was a master traditional Torah scholar whose depth of learning was matched only by his humility and vision. A brilliant strategist and a quiet idealist, he built bridges between communities with a singular purpose — to strengthen unity and shared purpose among the entire Jewish community and beyond.
In an age often marked by division, Rabbi Hauer stood as a model of integrity and warmth. He combined a deep sense of emes with genuine ahavas Yisroel, inspiring rabbis, educators, and lay leaders alike to seek Hashem’s glory in this world. His voice guided our community through times of challenge and renewal, always with clarity, compassion, and conviction.
He was a paragon of refined character traits, taking great care to avoid improper speech and exhibiting great thought in preventing hurt to others. He was a beloved servant of Klal Yisroel whose legacy of faith, wisdom, and unity will continue to illuminate the path ahead.
In this time, more than ever, we need unity and leaders who follow Rabbi Hauer’s example in promoting it — leaders who see beyond differences and work together for the sake of the Jewish people. May his memory be a blessing, and may Hashem comfort his family and all who were privileged to know him among the mourners of Tzion and Yerushalayim.
