Tuesday, January 1, 2019 – the 24th day of Tevet 5779 – at 12:30 p.m. a Memorial Observance for the sixth Yahrzeit of HaGaon Harav Avraham Dov Hecht a”h will be held at the Ohel Chabad Lubavitch 226-20 Francis Lewis Blvd. Cambria Heights, New York 11411.

Harav Avraham Hecht is fondly remembered as a brilliant Torah scholar and orator, one of the foremost rabbinic leaders of our day, who served with the greatest distinction the American and World Jewish community.

In his capacity as President of the Rabbinical Alliance of America/Igud HaRabonim the Rav was mentor to hundreds of rabbis and served as pulpit rabbi and spiritual leader of Congregation Sharre Zion the largest Sephardic congregation in North America, guiding thousands in the ways of Torah and Mitzvah observance.

Following the Memorial Prayers at graveside a Yahrzeit Seuda & collation sponsored by the Hecht family will be held at the Ohel Chabad, where words of Torah and inspiration will be shared.

The observance is being organized by Rabbi Yehoshua S. Hecht; Chairman of the RAA Presidium and by Rabbi Mendy Mirocznik; Executive Vice President of the Rabbinical Alliance.
