The Rabbinical Alliance of America — Igud HaRabbonim, a professional Rabbinical Organization with a membership of 950 Orthodox Rabbis — thanks President Donald Trump for opening the American Embassy in Jerusalem today, the 51st anniversary of the reunification of Jerusalem.

In 1995, Congress passed the Jerusalem Embassy Act which called for the relocation of the American Embassy to Jerusalem. U.S. Presidents have repeatedly signed waivers, preventing the relocation. Last June, the U.S. Senate passed a unanimous resolution calling on the President to move the embassy. President Trump answered that call and, in December, set in motion the embassy’s move.

Rabbi Mendy Mirocznik, Executive Vice-President of the RAA/IGUD stated, “We applaud President Trump for fulfilling his campaign pledge to relocate the American Embassy to Jerusalem, thereby furthering peace in the middle-east. This is an unambiguous and clear declaration that the United States of America stands with Israel and recognizes Jerusalem as Israel’s eternal capital.”

We pray that the Creator shine His blessings on President Donald Trump and his administration to lead the world towards universal peace.

We also pray that the United States of America will continue to steadfastly lead the world in protecting the safety and security of all freedom-loving people, especially the State of Israel that faces enemies who stubbornly refuse to acknowledge its right to exist.

May He who makes peace in His heavens make peace for us and for all Israel, Amen.
