Convocation Resolutions
Chai Elul 5785 – September 16, 2025
by Rabbi Yehoshua S. Hecht – Member of the Presidium & Convocation Chairperson
#1) IN SUPPORT OF JUDEA & SAMARIA ANNEXED & RECOGNIZD AS ISRAEL
The Rabbinical Alliance of America – IGUD, calls upon the State of Israel, to formerly recognize YEHUDA & SHOMRON as being integral portions of the Land of Israel, to be annexed and recognized as Bnei-Brak and Tel-Aviv. The RAA is opposed to the formation of any independent political Arab entity, in any part of YEHUDA & SHOMRON or elsewhere. We support the reintegration of all of GAZA, as being an integral part of the Jewish Peoples Biblical homeland.
This position is based on Jewish Law (Halacha Shulchan Aruch – Orech Chaim #329 as it pertains to PIKUACH NEFESH protecting the sanctity of life. As Israel is surrounded, by mortal enemies, all of its borders, must be actively protected from hostile elements.
#2) IN SUPPORT OF A “NATION-WIDE FEDERATION OF PARENTS”
The RAA/IGUD calls for the launching of a National Federation of Parents, to advocate and to protect Family-Values within our Nations’ schools. The announcements and positions adopted and promulgated by the National Education Association (NEA) and National Federation of Teachers (NFT) over the last decade, are at variance with moral and ethical norms – identified as Family Values. The fostering of “woke-ideology” in our Nations’ schools is placing our youth at a disadvantage. Education includes not only math, science, and arts. It must also include character development, and the nurturing of moral and civic values.
We envision the Federation of Parents to be active with local chapters formed in all fifty-states, advocating for our youth, and protecting students from indoctrination of trans-genderism etc. being led astray from common-sense and mainstream values. We believe that a Nation that trusts in G-D and upholds Biblical Family Values – is a republic that is worthy of blessing and success.
#3) IN SUPPORT OF THE CHIEF RABBINATE OF ISRAEL
The Rabbinical Alliance of America – Igud Harabonim reiterates their wide-ranging support of the institution and office of the Chief Rabbinate of Israel headed by the recently appointed Chief Rabbi HaGaon Rav Kalman Ber and the Chief Rabbi HaGaon Chacham Dovid Yosef; may they continue to lead Israel and the Jewish people in good health and success.
It is of necessity that the Chief Rabbinate remain the exclusive authority of all matters of GIYUR (conversion) and matters of religious identity and personal status, MARRIAGE & DIVORCE as well as all matters of KASHRUTH as codified in the Code of Jewish Law – Halacha.
The time hallowed and established heritage and customs of our people (Halacha) serve to unite and preserve the unity and integrity of the Jewish people of all backgrounds and levels of observance. In fact, these standards continue to unite the world Jewish community and keep at bay, assimilation and intermarriage.
#4) IN SUPPORT OF THE ADMINISTRATION IN WASHINGTON D.C.
The RAA/IGUD applauds our current administration in Washington, D.C. headed by our distinguished President; Donald J. Trump, for the support extended to the State of Israel, in their war against the evil HAMAS. We hope and pray that this support will continue in even greater measure, thus allowing for the hostages to be returned home to their families and the HAMAS obliterated in its entirety.
#5) RECOGNITION OF THE ERETZ HAKODESH WORK in ISRAEL & DIASPORA
We are indeed thankful that our esteemed member Rabbi Pesach Lerner, has done and continues to conduct – yeoman contributions to American and Israeli Jewry, through his work within the ERETZ HAKODESH SECTOR of the Jewish Agency. We wish him continued success in these endeavors.
#6) CONGRATULTIONS TO RABBI MIROZNICK ON THE APPOINTMENT TO THE NYS SUPREME COURT
We congratulate Rabbi Menachem “Mendy” Mirocznik, a 1995 graduate of Touro University and a longtime civic leader in the Jewish community, and Executive Vice President of the RAA as a judge to the New York State Court of Claims. We wish him every success as he continues his blessed work on behalf of all humanity.
#7) RECOGNITION OF THE COALITION OF JEWISH VALUES
The RAA/IGUD wishes to applaud, once again, the effective work of the CJV (Coalition of Jewish Values) a national organization being the voice of nearly twenty-five hundred orthodox rabbis, chaplains and educators (many of them members of the RAA) who serve with diligence coast to coast in these great United States of America. We are especially thankful that our member Rabbi Yaakov Menken, has reached a most visible national profile, on legacy media, and on social media, standing for the Jewish View on every major social issue affecting America and the world. Through their work the views of Torah and our sacred traditions are being heard by millions of citizens and by our elected officials in Washington, D.C. and throughout the country. From gender fluidity issues to traditional family values, the CJV is doing a KIDDISH HASHEM, and we wish them ever growing success.
With blessings and prayers for a good and sweet New Year and a year of redemption with MOSHIACH, Amen
